A workpiece carrier is located on the Mechatronic Unit. The workpiece carrier is positioned under the shaft of the drop magazine. The separating station has a drop magazine for six workpiece bases. A workpiece is separated and placed in the workpiece carrier. The loaded workpiece carrier moves to the end of the conveyor belt to be taken over by the next unit.
