Course contents:

• Introduction to the concepts resistance, capacitance and inductance per unit length and characteristic impedance of a coaxial cable
• Determining the resistance per unit length of a coaxial cable using a Wheatstone bridge
• Determining the capacitance per unit length of a coaxial cable using a Wien bridge
• Determining the inductance per unit length of a coaxial cable using a Maxwell bridge
• Determining the surge impedance of a coaxial cable
• Investigation of reflections in a coaxial cable depending on termination
• Predicting the response of a cable when incorrectly terminated
• Proper termination of a cable to eliminate reflection
• Course duration 4 h approx.
