ESM 6 Measurement exercises in accordance with VDE 0701-0702
All electrical equipment in public and commercial buildings is subject to an annual inspection review. The required regular testing, along with any testing subsequent to repairs or modifications to electrical appliances is stipulated in standards and guidelines. Only electrically trained and qualified personnel may undertake such tests. A high degree of technical knowledge is required for this. Terminology such as protection class, protective earth and insulation measurement all need to be known, as do their permitted limits in the standards. Knowing how to handle the appropriate measuring equipment makes it easier for users to evaluate the electrical appliances themselves. Equipment simulators with built-in fault simulators allow for hands-on tests to be made in various operating states.
Training contents:
- Legal principles and project planning for testing in accordance with EN 50699 /EN 50678
- Protective classes I, II, III
- Symbols and documentation for components
- Selection and usage of measuring instruments and testers conforming to DIN VDE and BGV standards
- Planning, execution and documenting of repeated testing as per DIN VDE and BGV standards
- Finding faults in equipment and components and evaluating readings
- Evaluating steps in testing and comparing measured values with permitted limits
- Exploring maintenance suggestions
