Electromechanical Parking Brake with Auto-hold Function
Electromechanical Parking Brake with Auto-hold Function
An electromechanical parking brake replaces the conventional handbrake with a simple switch on the dashboard so that there is no need for a handbrake lever. On uphill starts, sensors determine how steep the slope is. If the driver stops the vehicle, the brake engages automatically until the car is started again. This new auto-hold function is being integrated into more and more vehicles and in the future will gain in significance. In our system we have depicted the modern electromechanical parking brake in such a way that it is easily understood and can be experimentally tested by trainees and students.
The electromechanical parking brake replaces the conventional handbrake with a switch in the dashboard, eliminating the need for a conventional handbrake lever. This equipment is now standard in many vehicles. The electromechanical parking brake opens up a range of new comfort functions for the driver, but it is also important to understand the technology in the workshop and to pay attention to some special features. From a purely technical point of view, the training system isolates the brake from the rest of the vehicle, but in conjunction with the e-learning course it enables a holistic approach. In this way, the trainee learns everything about the topics of function, diagnosis and maintenance, and at the same time can practically comprehend all contents.
